Grandma's New Guest Room

My aunt, who was living with us upstairs, as recently moved to Florida. So the guest bedroom is becoming a guest bedroom once again. This has been a pretty big task and it's about 3/4 of the way there.

Maybe even 7/8.

Basically everything is done BUT the crafting table part. This transference has been pretty exhausting for me emotionally for some reason. I mean...I really liked my little setup downstairs and it took me a lot of thought and planning to get it that way. Thats just how small spaces are. And now I am doing it all over again, as well as trying to incorporate Grandma's needs/stuff into it. One thing I need to realize is that no amount of planning is going to get an A+ from Grandma. There is going to be something that should have gone here or there, etc. So I will just do what I can. Meanwhile, here is how the rest of the room looks. Not bad for using nothing but stuff she already had and a few bucks for paint and dye. I know I already posted some of these pics but... this is as finished as I am going to make it. And it feels good to have it done. Pictures don't do the feeling in the room justice though, so that's too bad.

Wall Folder for the Hubby

Our room is on the smaller side. Our bed (a hand me down) is on the bigger side. So it's jammed in a corner and my husband doesn't really have an end table. The catch-all on the dresser gets just about everything, but he likes to keep his phone by him as his alarm clock and then his glasses need a home too. At first, I had this really cute little shelf with molding and such...but then I thought about how he doesn't always full wake up (he's a hard sleeper) and how that could equal him bonking his head :( I decided sharp corners was a bad call. Then...I found this:

Yay PeeChee! Our room is blue/yellow/grey/b&W. And Hubby loves sports. So.
I put the Folder inside out and folded one side like so:

I took some gorilla glue and glued the sides and corners

Clamped it down with paper clips.

Let it dry overnight or whatever...

And then tacked it to the wall!

Use.

The Bedroom: My Favorite Things

I still have one major project to complete with the bedroom and then it will be all done and amazing! I have a vision of a giant collage type thing...it's complicated but fantastic. Till then, I am excited about everything else that has gotten done in there! So here are my favorite little nooks and whatzits of our new bedroom (**note** a lot of this decor was left over decor from the wedding. When I designed stuff for the wedding, I tried to make sure it was usable after so it wasn't wasted money and it has worked out wonderfully!) Enjoy!
Found this $50 shelf for $17 and then used dollar store bins

Gave our laundry sorter a little more character with a shower curtain from the thrift store

Repainted thrift store items=awesome decor
