Shoe Redo #4 Glitter!

I like that these are more subtly glittered. I am not a big LOOK AT ME I SHINE type. Well...sometimes. But not most of the time.

These flats are cloth so I could use:

Chalkboard Clipboards

Not the best pictures :P I've been working on that. Kinda. Anyway. Chalkboard paint + Decopauge + Clipboard = Cuter Clip Board <3

Upcycled Book Bag

If you saw my bookmarks, then you will recognize some of these quotes :) My niece is getting into big girl books (her dad just finished reading her The Hobbit! /sniff...they grow so fast...) and so i wanted to celebrate that milestone with a pretty awesome book bag. Her fave colors are pink, blue and purple. I didn't have purple so she gets green (sorry kiddo, life's not always fair i know) hopefully she will still love it! She loves pockets too, just like her auntie, so i made sure to include a snazzy pocket on the side.

PS i found this book bag in the shop, gave it a good washing up and took off what i could of what used to be on it, THEN attacked it with fabric paint pens.

The Uber Teacup Cake Stand

I am donating this to our library, which does a tea party every year as a community thing :) Isn't it fun?? It was a pain in the you-know-what to make, i can tell you that! So many pieces....and then the glue wouldn't harden! ack! Anyway, it went from this:

Pretty fun! And with appliances spray paint you don't have to worry so much about how washable it is or food safety. win. I saw something like it on pinterest, they said it was an anthro thing (here's the link) and I am sure anthro is way better but this was fun to attempt at any rate :)

Upcycled Tank Top

This is really simple and I love how it came out.

You'll need:
Fabric pen
Fabric spray paint
a stencil...

kinda...read below...

First, go to the craft store and get a snazzy piece of cardstock for a buck that looks this (its a die cut or something, in the paper section):

Then, lay it on top of a shirt and spray said shirt with whatever color fabric spray you like, I used white in this case. On top of grey. gray? i always forget.

Anyway... I sprayed it really lightly, it dried really fast which was awesome :) And it looked like this:

So now, take a fabric pen and write a word on there. In my case "scribble." Cuz it looks like a scribble and I like to scribble. Verb and noun in one, perfect :)

Modeling time!

Think I might cut a different neckline, i really hate the high ones. Not that I'm a floozy, I just don't like to feel like I am choking...

Lemon and White Chocolate Macademia Nut Cookies

I may have found the perfect combination that will make both my husband and I happy.

I love lemon, he loves white chocolate. It's win-win!

My grandma makes a cookie mix using cake mix.
1 box cake mix
2 eggs
1 stick of butter (or whatever you use)
1/2 c of fun stuff (in this case, lemon extract, macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips)

Bake for 12-18 min at 350 degrees. I usually do gluten free, but I was making a batch for a really big group and this was faster :) ANOTHER way to put in lemon is to just use a Lemon box cake. Everyone loved the combo and wanted the recipe. Hence...this post :)

polish sausage and nectarine scramble

In a word....nummy.

Dice up polish sausage, nectarines, and green onion and fry in that order in the pan (cast iron will add to the smokey yum flavor) and then add eggs, scramble up with salt to taste. Totally tasty.

Fairy Beach House

My niece loves fairies (huge fan of Tinkerbell). So when it came time to make over her room, her mommy got the coolest idea: Everyone in the family make a "fairy hom" for the village in her room! They are in the military, everyone is states away, so my Sis-In-Law very lovingly goes the extra mile to come up with ways to keep family close. We went hog wild and lots of fun :) My Dad made a library (or rather Mom made it for him LOL he's not the crafty type) to show his love of books. My brother's had old computer bits attached to it. Sis-in-Law made a luau house. I thought I had more pics of us making them but this seems to be all that survived. I do recall that i used a grey foam block that i hollowed out to look like a little cave and then glued everything to. That worked pretty well :)  so I hope you enjoy the pics and get some fun inspiration!

So here is my "Beach House" (my fairy apparently likes to go to the beach and paint :) I can't blame her...)

The rest of the families and the grand setup:

Hard to see but I swear there are wires and draw bridge made of computer chips.

Piggy Bank

A few years ago a friends of mine was having her first baby, a boy. A boy who was going to have a room all decked out in an Oregon Ducks theme (daddy was a big fan). So we thought what better than a paper mache piggy bank.

  • Egg Carton
  • Balloon
  • Your favorite paper mache recipe
  • Colorful Tissue Paper
  • Tape
  • Maybe a friend...
